To the Top

The Washington Monument is the most recognizable part of the DC skyline. You can see it from most everywhere in the city. We have always wanted to visit the top of the Washington Monument. In order to go to the top, you need timed tickets given away at a kiosk near the monument. However, they are usually gone by 8:30 every morning and I have never been willing to get up early enough to get downtown to get them. However, recently I discovered that you can get tickets online. You have to pay a small handling fee, but it was totally worth it. Here we are waiting for our tour time. It looks really tall from the base.

A view from the top overlooking the Elipse and the White House.

The Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial.

The windows to look through aren't very big, but the view is amazing!

We are excited to see you guys this weekend! Kaylee said there is a kid she sees at lunch who "looks just like Ben Harper, but it can't be him!"
