Thanksgiving

Rachel reminded me that we hadn't made waxed leaves this year yet.  So a couple of days before Thanksgiving she and I gathered some leaves and dipped them in hot wax.  Kate helped too.
We laid them to dry on waxed paper, and then hung them as a garland over the kitchen window.
It was a lovely way to enjoy the beautiful fall leaves just a bit longer.

On Monday before Thanksgiving, we made our Thankful tree.  Rachel and Kate painted the trunk and we all cut out leaves.

Then for Family Home Evening will filled it full of our blessings.  It is good to pause and reflect on how much we have to be thankful for.

On Thanksgiving, the big girls set the table beautifully.  We had a fun day celebrating with our friends the Huillets.
Rebekah and William were so darn cute together.

The kids had a fun Wii tournament all afternoon.
We ate lots of wonderful food (I forgot to take any pictures of the real meal and David's beautifully photogenic turkey).  But these pies were both beautiful and delicious!
And we had fun hanging out with these amazing people.  They've been our friends for so long that we decided we are family.

It was a wonderful relaxing day (and a good thing too, because I was very tired and sore after my big run).
