Hawaii Continued

Are you tired of looking at my Hawaii pictures? Hope not. 'Cause I'm not tired of them yet. I've decided a good vacation--and memories of it-- can get me through months of otherwise monotonous, difficult--and in my case--cloudy times. (I loved that Hawaii sunshine!)

On Sunday we had breakfast and then drove down and met our friends the Amachers at their church building. They had 8:30 church and it just so happened that the speaker that day was Sister Dibb, second counselor in the Young Women General Presidency. It was so neat to hear her speak. She also did a combined Sunday school class for the youth which Sarah got to go to.

After church we went to the Amachers house for lunch and then we all went together to Pearl Harbor. It was under construction, so there wasn't much to the museum, but we were able to ride the boat out to the Arizona Memorial. It is a nice peaceful place.

Then we headed back to our beach house, this time taking Sarah and Rachel's friend Amelia with us to spend the night. We made spaghetti for dinner and then watched the Olympics.

Monday morning was president's day and so the local kids didn't have school. Our friends, he Amachers came up to our beach house and then we all went out to breakfast at this yummy restaurant called Cinnamon's. They had amazing food--it had been featured on the Rachel Ray cooking show--and the best pancakes on the island. I had banana pancakes with coconut syrup and they were soooo good!. They also had amazing frittatas.

After breakfast we followed them to Bellows beach. It was a great beach for boogie boarding. The waves were perfect and then sand was silky and smooth. We all had tons for fun riding the waves. However, Ben had a big wipeout and ended up knocking out his front tooth. It had been loose for months, so it was a good thing it came out, but he was bloody and had a fat lip and scraped nose and was pretty traumatized about the whole thing. He was especially sad that his tooth was lost in the ocean (or else he swallowed it). But it was a wonderful day playing on the beach.
