New Patio

We got our backyard patio extended a few weeks ago.  We have been loving the extra space.
Our original patio only went to the edge of the house.  There just wasn't enough space for our table and chairs and no good access to the grill and refrigerator back there.  Everything was pretty squished.  Plus, the kids had to walk through the bark to get to the trampoline and to the front yard--a guarantee of slivers for little bare feet.  So, we extended the patio and had a walkway put in around the side of the house to the driveway in front.  It has been so nice to be able to go outside and not have to go in the mucky grass and bark to get around to the trampoline or front yard.  We've been able to spread out and have more space when we have friends over.  I have plans to put in some planters and do some more landscaping, but I can only handle one thing at a time.
(Notice the terrarium next to the steps?  The kids love to catch frogs and put them in there.  Not sure if any are still alive...)

William has loved the extra space to ride his car.  Our driveway is slightly slanted (towards the street) so this is a much safer place for him to play.
 Drive drive drive!
William had so much fun playing in the backyard this summer.  He spent time out there everyday.  Even now that it has turned fall, if it isn't raining, we are outside.  He wants to eat his lunch outside at the little picnic table every day.
I finally got him to smile for the camera.
Little boys need space to play outside.  I'm so grateful for our beautiful backyard.

Looks great! This is on my schedule for next summer. We have no patio or deck or anything. Just grass. We've been meaning to do something for lots of years now. Seeing your patio makes me excited to get it done finally.
