End of the Year Wrap-up

We are a few weeks into summer vacation now, but I wanted to post a few end-of-the-school-year photos.

I think this was a great year for our kids.  Kate finished first grade and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED her sweet teacher.  Her teacher gives every one of her students a nickname during the year, and Kate's nickname was Katydid.  She loved it that her teacher called her that and is sure that she will never have another teacher as great as her teacher this year. 

Ben completed fourth grade and his first year in the highly capable program.  He also had a great year and loved the opportunity to go as fast as he wanted in math.  He is excited to return to the same program and teacher again next year. 

Ben finished up his baseball season with his last game and end-of-the-year party the weekend after school got out.  He had a great season and improved a lot.

Rachel finished up 7th grade.  She was once again awarded a medal for having a 4.0 all year.  In addition, she got the highest score in the school (tied) for the scholastic challenge, which is a test they take that covers a variety of topics. 

 Love that school champion medal.

Sarah had a great year as well.  She has finished her first year of high school with excellent grades and an increase in knowledge (some of which I wish she didn't have).  However, a high school education covers many things, I suppose.  She had a particularly tough honors English class, which she worked really hard in.  It was good for her to have a challenge and really learn. 

Now, it is time to enjoy summer vacation!
