We took a fun day trip to Leavenworth over the winter break. Leavenworth is a cute Bavarian town in the Cascade Mountains. Voted as one of the Christmasy places on earth, we had hoped for some snow, but no such luck.
We ate lunch at our favorite--The Soup Cellar.
Then we went to the Nutcracker museum.
It was jam packed with nutcrackers.
Big and small.
These ones are all from Rothenburg, Germany, which we visited a few years ago.
Loved these missionary nutcrackers!
We also got to visit The Hat Store, which is the most fun of any shop in Leavenworth. They have all sorts of fun and crazy hats!
We had so much fun trying on all the hats!
I had to buy this hilarious sign I found in one of the other fun shops there. So true!
Then we headed up the canyon to where there was (some) snow for a fun sleigh ride.
After the sleigh ride, we came back to town for a little more window shopping, a stop at the Christmas store, and a look at the beautiful Christmas lights.
