Ten Things I Learned at Lake Powell

We just got back from an amazing trip to Lake Powell.  Pictures will come later, but here are a few things I learned:

1)  Fruit snacks will melt when it is 110 degrees.

2)  The only way to keep cool when it is that hot, is too keep wet.

3)  Lake Powell is boy heaven.

4)  Climbing Hole-in-the-Rock was very, very hard.  The pioneers were amazing.

5)  William is an awesome hiker and made it to the top of Hole-in-the-Rock almost all by himself.

6)  Hiking in such hot weather makes the water in your water bottle hotter than hot.  However, you drink it anyway because it is better than nothing.

7)  Falling asleep under the stars is amazing--and much cooler than sleeping in the houseboat.

8)  Always remember to wear shoes when returning to the marina.  Forgetting shoes will lead to very, very hot feet.

9)  A slurpee is the most amazing drink ever when it is 110 degrees.

10)  Lake Powell is David's favorite place in the world--especially in his own new boat.
