Ben got these cool Kapla blocks for Christmas. They were waiting for him underneath the Christmas tree when we got home from our trip. The wooden blocks are all exactly the same size, and can be used to build amazing things.
Everybody likes to play with them. Even me. They are very fun and addicting.

They are the perfect toy for Ben. Ben really likes to build and create things. He loves legos--but only the first time. He likes to follow directions and build the kit as shown. However, because he is such a realist, creative, open-ended building and creating is frustrating for him. The Kapla blocks come with a booklet of ideas--lots of different things to build. There aren't any instructions, instead, you just look at the pictures and figure out how to do it. It is great focused problem solving and Ben loves it.
He's really hoping another set, with a big giant book of ideas is under the tree next Christmas!
